What started as a gathering place inside a Brazilian restaurant in Southborough became the connective thread between Brazilian artists and the North American audiences who love them.

Ipanema Productions was founded in 1991, taking its name from the Ipanema Restaurante e Churrascaria, owned by Carlos Silva in Southborough, Massachusetts. Since then, the company has brought the best names in Brazilian music to audiences across the United States and Canada.

Timeline

  1. 1991: A name born from a restaurant

    Ipanema Productions takes its name from the Ipanema Restaurante e Churrascaria, founded by Carlos Silva in Southborough, Massachusetts.

  2. 2000s: From local shows to national tours

    The company begins producing major Brazilian acts across New England, building the logistics backbone for touring artists in the US.

  3. 2010s: 200+ artists, coast to coast

    Ivete Sangalo, Jorge & Mateus, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano and dozens of others take the stage under Ipanema's production.

    Gusttavo Lima records a live DVD in Boston. Ipanema becomes a reference for large-scale Brazilian productions in North America.
